Lauren Blankstein is a New York City-based artist. Lauren does not have a plan or expectation when she begins a collage. She usually starts with an inclination to work with a particular material or process and then explores what can be achieved. Lauren is fascinated by the magic of the creative sub-conscious and how it reveals itself when she works. She sees the collage-making process as a metaphor to life. It is more fun and satisfying if things unfold naturally, trusting one’s impulses and intuition. Lauren was born and raised in Toronto, Canada.
